NOTD: Get your Glitter on?

Nails, Manicure

Elizabeth Street by Nails Inc has been sitting unused in my drawer for a while and I rediscovered it while digging around for Fall colours. I don’t usually go for pinky nude type polishes but thought I would give this one ago. This is a soft light pink, that your could wear very sheer or with a couple coats it is a pretty pink toned colour. It was not the best to apply though, some nails needed 3 coats for me to get an even finish but it has lasted well.

As I was having a lazy day, I decided to be creative and add a glittery top. I was drawn to the Barry M’s Pink Sapphire Glitter in the store over a year ago, but I have never really liked it on my nails as it it hard to apply well.  It is made up of confetti type glitter in pink, silver and white of various sizes.

What do you think of the combo? I can’t decide! The glitter makes it less sophisticated than without but more fun?

Pretty in Pink Nails

Pretty in Pink Nails

I have been loving pink nails as summer turns to autumn. These are my top 3 pink nail polish from my collection. They are maybe more summery than September allows but I am not ready for the colder weather and dark nights!

Chanel in 535 May: Chanel nail polish is an indulgence, this one was a gift from my boyfriend, don’t know if I would pay full whack myself. Saying that I love this colour, it is the softest pink of the 3 and it feels so ladylike and elegant to wear.

Essie in Lovie Dovie With the best name of the bunch, this is a vibrant girly pink which gives a rich colour in two coats. It feels fun to wear and perfect for those last couple days of sunshine.

I was really impressed by the wear time on this polish and found the application really good.

No7 in Pink Grapefruit A hot pink colour which I love on my toes. Wear time is average.

Will be breaking out the darker fall colours soon though!.

NOTD: Essie Naughty Nautical

Essie Naughty Nautical

I am in love with Essie nail polish at the moment, the last few colours I have bought in particular are so lovely and lasted ages on the nail. Essie’s Naughty Nautical has been on my nails for my birthday weekend, it is lovely lagoon/mermaid green with a hint of shimmer. It paints on well and still looks great which is a miracle for me as I seem to chip my polish so easily.

Off out for a birthday cocktail with my friends shortly, then dinner with the boyfriend, should be a good day!

Tangy Tangerine, Loafer Lover for you,  Kiko 235, Mornington Crescent, Gorgeous 293

As I may of mentioned a few times, I am off on to Dubai on holiday very soon- Friday in fact! I have been getting organised and starting to pack. Part of this was looking through my nail polish collection to decide what to paint on my toe nails so they look their best in my havaianas and peep-toe heels. I have a shortlist of 5 which one do you think I should go for?

First option is a wonderful shimmer turquoise Gorgeous 293, Sinful Colours.  Next and unusually for me I was attracted to the few orange shades in my collection. The prospect of much needed sun, sea and sand must have gone to me head. Tangy Tangerine, Rimmel is a pastel orange while option 3, Kiko (235) shade is a totally different shade offering brighter vibrant colour with a hint of shimmer.  I bought the Kiko polish in Italy last year so it always make me feel of holidays. Fourth choice is the blue Loafer Love for you,Rimmel. Final shortlisted colour is Mornington Cresecent by Nails Inc as pink usually looks good on my toes.

Leave me a comment to let me know which one you like best. I will post a picture of what I go for on instagram.

My Week Nailed: 3 nail polishes I loved this week.

Week in Nails

IMG_0476

I am a bit of a nail polish addict and thought I would give you a peak into my collection by sharing what I have been wearing on my nails this week.

First nail polish up, Wrapped in Rubies by Essie, this is a deep burgundy/bronze with a lovely gold shimmer undertone. It is one of those colours that I like better in the bottle than on the nail, although it is still very lovely on. It applies nicely and lasted okay- couple days of no chips without a topcoat.

Midweek, I switched to Seriously, It’s a Naan-issue, Sephora by OPI. It is a lovely deep slightly vampy purple with no shimmer but a wonderful shine in two coats. I also  just love its name- I always wonder who comes up with them would be an awesome job. If you were going to name a Nail Polish what would it be? I thought this one applied really well but didn’t last that great without a top coat. Was pretty cheap though and great colour so I can live with that.

Finally, for Valentines I went for  Animal-istic by OPI which paints on as a gorgeous bright red with an amazing gold shimmer. It really catches the eye and looked fab for date night. I think OPI nail polishes are brilliant, amazing colours and wear well- just wish they weren’t so expensive.

What have you been wearing on your nails this week? I usually share my nails of the day on instagram, also love checking out other people’s so if you are on Instagram let me know.

I post every Tuesday,Thursdays & Sunday.
